Medicating with positivity

“Do we really want to go back to normal life?” asks Joe Martino referring to the New COVID Normal in a video lecture. “Is this really what we want to do? Is this really what this is about? Or is time to start exploring what we actually want life to look like? What actually fulfills us? What actually feeds us? What actually makes our hearts pulse in joy?

“And, of course, the wellness community comes out and goes: ‘Well, we just got to do meditation and yoga all day long.’ To which I pose the question: Are we using meditation and yoga to explore who we truly are; to start changing our external world? Or are we using meditation and yoga to cope with a reality that does not fulfill who we truly are? That does not fulfill the changes we are being asked to make right now?

“Because that is what most of pop culture, mainstream, wellness and mediation, and mental health stuff is focused on: You ‘feeling’ better doing something no part of you wants to do. ‘Learn to accept the world as it is, through these techniques.’ When in reality, the world as it is, and what it is reflecting within you, are asking you to explore… whether or not you want to continue down this path. And we can keep medicating it with any form of positivity… but is it really going to lead towards where we want to go?”

You can listen to Joe Martino’s entire Why The “Red Pill”’ Has Become So Big video lecture. It ties in well with last Sunday’s post about why are so few challenging the COVID-19(84) deception.
