Brazil's Presidente:
"An armed people can never be enslaved"

Here's a photo of my blind son getting his first rifle lesson last week...

Jonah's pretty darn good at pulling the trigger, but since he's unable to see... his aim's a little off. Well, drastically off target. He may better serve an armed resistance by refilling magazines. Still, he sure showed some trees who was boss.

On the subject of personal protection, my friend Wolfgang (of Pfenning's Organic & More) sent me a clip of the president of Brazil calling for citizens to arm themselves. Is Brazil being invaded? Yes, but from the inside out (like most countries) by corrupt local officials imposing COVID restrictions.

Here's a snippet of what Presidente Jair Bolsonaro had to say (translated from Portuguese, which I understand well enough, having a solid grasp of Spanish and Italian):

I want that all... people take up arms. That will ensure that no son of a bitch shows up and can impose a dictatorship here... A f**king mayor makes a f**king decree, handcuffs people and keeps everyone locked up in their house. If they were armed they would go out into the street... I want everyone to be armed. Because an armed people can never be enslaved.

Not your typical politician, eh? Before running for office, Bolsonaro served 15 years in the Brazilian military. You can listen to the full clip here (with plenty more Portuguese profanity).

PPS Pete Toccalino (pictured above with the beard) left a new five-star review of Much Ado About Corona which says (among other nice things): "It is at once funny, disturbing, thought-provoking, informative and inspiring - a bonafide page turner with a cliff-hanger ending that will leave the reader pining for the sequel."
