...I think [faith] takes away a lot of the fear... That's the saying: faith over fear. And I have that kind of faith in God... I can look back over the twenty years of my career and know He lined everything up for me to be the artist that I am now. I know that in my heart, in my soul, that when I put out music now, I know, that's the song, that's the song that was given to me. It's a partnership right now.
Whether it's faith in "God" or faith in an absolute order to the seemingly chaotic and destructive nature of the world today, faith is ultimately what pushes back the fear.
When Canada's Prime Minister Dictator first announced his doomsday lockdown orders, I felt more than a little trepidation beginning work on Much Ado About Corona. Unlike Five Times August, I had not the growing affirmation that comes with producing a series of singles on YouTube. Instead, writing the 500-page novel required two years of lonely work, 2-4 hours a day — fearing not only that the book would not be well received (or possibly banned on Amazon) but that I might end up in some concentration camp mining rare earth metals in the Yukon before its completion.
Instead I'm working on the sequel, while Much Ado About Corona is averaging five-stars on Amazon. Likewise, Silent War hit the #1 Best Seller on Apple/iTunes' Singer/Songwriter Charts.
Faith over fear.
