Blazing Reader:
John Leake, co-author of the Courage to Face COVID-19, wrote in an article last month...
"By [policymaker's] calculus, severe injuries and deaths caused by COVID-19 vaccines are the price we as a society must pay for the purportedly greater number of lives saved by the vaccines.
"Never in the history of medicine has this calculus been used to evaluate the benefit of a medical product. Only in a military context—that is, commanders in the field must accept a certain number of casualties in order to achieve the greater benefit of vanquishing the enemy—has this logic been applied."
In my forthcoming novel, Brave New Normal (the sequel to Much Ado About Corona) I had, many months ago, already drafted a scene depicting a similar "wartime logic." This scene takes place after one of the characters from the first novel (name withheld to avoid spoilers) dies suddenly from a heart attack after being coerced into getting both shots:
"The younger medic, with the hair like a mad scientist, slid into the driver’s seat. Hand still on the door handle, he said to me, 'For every one person the vax takes, it saves four.'
"It sounded more like a motto rather than a scientific fact. A feasible idea he could latch onto and believe in.
"He pulled the door shut and revved up the engine.
"My fists were clenched and my body shaking. For every person sacrificed to the spike protein, science would spare four? It sounded like something from the pages of a fantasy novel rather than a medical journal."
Sadly, I can't write a 500-page novel fast enough. As with Much Ado About Corona, what started off as speculative fiction will be historical fact by the time it is published.
Stay sane & keep reading,
—John C. A. Manley
PS American novelist and pastor Gary W. Ritter (author of the political end-time thriller Sow the Wind) recently left this review after reading Much Ado About Corona: "I loved the book. It covered all the bases and showed us — as we learned in the X-Files: "Trust no one" particularly the medical profession these days.... Looking forward to Round 2 with the sequel!"
