Blazing Reader,
In 60 days, on September 11th, I'll be releasing my next novel, All the Humans are Sleeping. And it looks like I'm ahead of schedule. Yesterday, I finished up the final rewrite and incorporated all of my editor's line edits.
Next, I need to go through some of my latest research notes about the metaverse, AI, the United Nations and helicopters — adding a little more realism to this near-future sci-fi story.
That should only take a day or two — unless it stimulates some big ideas... then (knowing me and my Muse) maybe a week.
After that, the manuscript goes back for a final copy-edit (spelling, grammar, etc). While Pete "Typolino" Toccalino is scouring all 60,000 words, I'll be formatting them for the paperback edition. Once the copy edit is done, I'll update the paperback version and print ten proofs for my merry band of proofreaders to hunt down any surviving typos.
The cover art is also ready to go — rendered in charcoal and pastel by Jordan Henderson (the same dissident artist who painted the cover for Much Ado About Corona). He's created an eerie portrait of the story's protagonist "sleeping" in a human interface pod with his brain, spine and nervous system wired into the metaverse. Jordan was the model. With his long hair and beard, there's a slight crucifixion metaphor happening in the image.
Would you like to see the cover?
Well, it just so happens I've provided an early sneak peek on the second last page of the complete ebook version of Dr. Science Fiction Himself (my satirical short story in which I interview Dr. Anthony Fauci in the basement of the NIH's headquarters).
Dr. Science Fiction Himself is available for free to anybody who has purchased a copy of Much Ado About Corona. If that's you, then email me your receipt and I'll send you a link to the ebook (with the cover of All the Humans are Sleeping).
Now, if you haven't bought a copy of Much Ado About Corona, well this is just another reason why you should stop depriving yourself of what one (of many) five-star reviews on Amazon calls a "deeply moving story about the strength of the human spirit in its quest for love, truth, and freedom."
Click here to order your copy now, forward me your receipt and I'll send you the secret download link for Dr. Science Fiction Himself and the cover to All the Humans are Sleeping. Be one of the first persons in the whole world to see Jordan Henderson's latest work of art.
