Blazing Reader,
Doctor Who premiered on November 23, 1963. The first episode was called "An Unearthly Child" and was quite a good story. But the ratings were horrible because the day before, November 22, 1963, John F. Kennedy had been shot and people were more curious who the shooter was than a time-travelling doctor.
The BBC, however, decided to produce a second episode. Thirty-eight seasons later, Doctor Who is the longest-running science fiction TV show of all time.
Likewise, on Friday, July 12, 2024, The Atlas Society premiered their animated book trailer for Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead, the day before Donald Trump was shot through the earlobe. As a result, the video has only had 25,000 views, even though the novel has sold over 7 million copies.
