"A real page turner! Two thumbs up!"

Blazing Reader,

Here is a new five-star Amazon review for my latest novel, All the Humans Are Sleeping, from Mary:

"A real page turner! I couldn't put it down. The author's writing style immediately immersed me in the characters, and I really cared about their story and what would happen to them... Two huge thumbs up!"

Thanks, Mary! I, too, really care about the characters in my novels. Oddly, they seem almost as real to me as people I know in the flesh. I even like the bad guys.

But I'm often just as surprised by what they do (or don't do). I don't outline my novels. I largely let the characters decide what happens next (even if it's not in their best interest).

Therefore, I totally understand what Dean Koontz meant when he said, "When writing organically, allowing characters their free will, the author could be surprised by who died and who lived in the final act."

To get emotionally attached to the characters in my latest novel, All the Humans Are Sleeping, you can read or listen to a free sample. But if you want to know who dies and who lives, you'll have to purchase a copy.
