Blazing Reader,
My latest novel, All the Humans are Sleeping, appears in this month's issue of Locus Magazine.
"Locus Magazine?" you ask. "Is that a fundamentalist Christian periodical full of doomsday proclamations about the next locust-induced famine?"
No, Locus Magazine is the go-to magazine for science fiction and fantasy literature. Founded in 1968, this monthly publication features interviews, listings, news and more from the world of speculative short stories and novels.
Here in the Netherlands, I just received the May print issue in my mailbox a few days before the electronic edition of the June issue arrived in my inbox.
On page 49 of the June issue, you can see this well-written summary that Liza Trombi, editor-in-chief, provided for All the Humans are Sleeping:
"Manley, John C.A. All the Humans are Sleeping (Blazing Pine Cone, 978-1-77812316-0, $14.99, 321pp, tp, cover by Jordan Henderson) Near-future cyberpunk SF novel, the first in the Metaverse trilogy set in 2041 in the aftermath of WWIII, a six-day nuclear war that kills five billion people. Survivors in bunkers beneath the Arctic tundra are connected by brain implants to a VR simulation, but one farmer and a robot refuse to join. This is dated 2024 but not seen until now; ebook also available. Blazing Pine Cone,
It's always been a dream of mine to see a novel I wrote listed in the pages of Locus Magazine. Dreams come true, one excessively edited paragraph at a time.
The listing neglected to mention that the novel is also available in audiobook format. You can sample the ebook and audiobook, or purchase a copy (in all three formats) of my "near-future cyberpunk" novel about "one farmer and a robot" who refuse to live in a VR simulation at AllTheHumansAreSleeping.com.
