Blazing Reader,
Last month, I noticed on the Goodreads page for my novel All the Humans Are Sleeping that author Sharon Mikeworth had left a five-star rating. (Her novel Into the Mist won the Literary Titan Book Award.)
Of course, these days with AI bots and Nigerian scam artists consuming half the internet, you can't assume anybody is who they say they are at first glance.
So I sent her an email via her website, double-checking that she'd actually read my novel.
"It came up on my Fire tablet when I was looking for something to read," she wrote back. "And lucky me, it was great!"
I noticed on Goodreads that she had given Bram Stoker's classic, Dracula, only three stars — so her five-star rating for my book either means I really did do a great job, or she has a grudge against vampires.
Sharon was also kind enough to provide this testimonial:
"All the Humans are Sleeping is a thought-inducing tale that immerses the reader into a future both chillingly plausible and achingly relatable. With its post-apocalyptic setting and well-developed characters, John Manley's novel brings into question the nature of reality and what it means to truly be alive. Highly recommended for fans of speculative science fiction steeped in atmosphere and emotion."
