Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. David Williams, offers good news and bad news in this video clip from the Cable Public Affairs Channel (CPAC).
First, the good news: “We can’t force someone to take a vaccine. That’s clear.”
The bad news: “What we can do, is to say for access or ease getting into certain settings, if you don’t have vaccination, you’re not allowed into that setting without other protection materials. So what may be mandatory is proof of immunization or vaccination with the proper product in order to have latitude and freedom to move around in certain [places] — like access into long-term care facilities, hospitals, different things — without wearing… personal protective equipment.”
He even mentions limiting access to school for children who don’t get the jab. Oh, well, not like schools were doing a great job anyway.
Williams sums up by assuring that no one will be forced to “take a vaccine against their will.” They’ll just have to wear a hazmat suit, against their will, next time they need a cast put on a broken leg or want to visit Grandma in a senior’s home.
